Elizna van der Westhuizen

Elizna van der Westhuizen is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with twenty years’ experience in financial reporting and auditing in the private and public sectors.

As the Head of Technical of the South African Accounting Standards Board, Elizna leads a team of standard-setters in developing accrual based public sector accounting standards in South Africa. She also oversees the development of material supporting the application of the Standards, published by staff of the ASB.

Elizna oversees local discussions on IPSAS consultations - most recently on measurement, tangible natural resources, the IPSASB’s first proposed Sustainability Reporting Standard on Climate-Related Disclosures and the latest strategy and work plan.

Elizna serves on the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants’ public sector committee.
